We talked about all of the things that made us think different about the book. We talked about the things that made us have our opinion on the things we did. we talked about how zero got sick and why did he steal so much. Some more questions we about Stanley was how doesn't he see the hole when he was driving the water truck, what kind of curse Stanley family had , and how did the shoes fall on him and who's shoes were they. some general question was why were the geckos in the hole and how fast would they kill if you get bitten.

What I would say (Drake
Why did you pick up the shoes in the first place? You wouldn't be in this mess and I wouldn't have to be writing about it. Do you know what is happening you will go to jail for nothing you didn't even do anything wrong. You could have left them there and you would be sitting at home instead of digging a 5 by 5 hole everyday
But on the bright side you don't have to do anything like chores and mow the lawn BUT YOU ARE DIGGING A 5 BY 5 HOLE EVERY DAY. Don't you think you can get out of camp steal a bunch of canteens and start walking I mean you made it to the mountain you could have left earlier so you didn't suffer the heat.
You are pretty buffed up now so now you won't be bullied or messed with you can also be a football player. You are still pretty stupid for taking those dumb shoes. You are a fan right you should have realised that they were a pro baseball players shoes. I needed to ask all those questions because you could have prevented the horrible events that took place

What Would I Say (AustinR)
Stanley I don't know why you are not taking the water that Zero is trying to give you. Also you don't need to be having a challenge with Zero because you guys are really good friends. what would make you want to have a challenge? Why would you not drink water and even tho zero has some but you don't want any. You should be safe and drink the water.
Remember like a few days ago when you helped a friend out and you took him to the top of the mountain. Good job that was a true friend because you helped him out when he was in need. Why did you do it? Why did you not drag him instead of carry him up the very big mountain. Also why did you put zero inside of the creek that was not a very smart idea because he could have gotten more hurt then he was before.
Stanley people that don't drink water can get hurt back. They can get dehydrated which means lack of water and that is not good for a 15 year old boy. Don't wait for zero to take a drink first you get one first be the bigger person. Finally if your mouth is dry and raspy then get a drink and you will like it.

Talking to Stanley (Aaron V.)
What if i had the chance to talk to Stanley yelnats. I would talk to him about his decisions. First I would congratulate him . I would do that because of his hard work and how far his gone during the time hes been at camp green lake. I would also talk to him about his parents because he doesn't know what they feel but us the readers do .
I would tell to Stanley that hes doing a fine job and that if he keeps going he will get far. I would tell him to keep on doing those decisions . I would tell him to stay with his friends that he has right now . I would tell him to stay positive. I would also say to never give up because at the end it might pay up for it.
The last thing would tell him is to keep his head up and to listen to others .he does a well job staying on task. I wouldn't yell at him. I wouldn't do that because hes been working hard at everything . Stanley hasn't given up to any of the challenges that he has to face int tho book. I would just congratulation .

(Aaron V., Dawson.J Drake K, Austin.R) main conflict
We think that the problem is that its man vs nature. Stanley was to dig a lot. He also has to fight against animals. He has top go dig every day. He also has to watch out about animals and what he does when hes digging. He also has to fight against the hot weather every single day. Stuff that made this harder is the fact that he knows that he might die. He might die because of the hot weather or because of the animals that he might find.
I think that Stanley will figure out o way to solve his problem. He is going to figure out how to stay alive for 18 months. We that when he goes back home and hes going to become a better person .

''Austin R'' Stanley Yelnats
One day when Stanley was walking home he was walking like he usually does. But something was not right because when he was walking home a pair of shoes fell from the sky and landed. But when they landed it was so soft and he thought it was right so he took the home and then the cops came and asked him a lots like where he got the shoes and why he ran so fast. Stanley yelnats is the type of kid that would do anything for his favorite person named Sweet feet. He is a famous baseball player and he is the person that Stanley stole the shoes from because he likes watching him play baseball.
Stanley is a good main character because he is fat but he is a good person he also does pretty well I school . He is fat because he would eat food and then he would not go outside. I also like him because he is a bigger boy and most main characters are not fat but he is. So that makes him different.

"Drake K'' Stanley
Stanley is a good kid even after he had been convicted of a crime that he didn't do. The court declared that he was guilty and he had a choice to go to jail or to camp green lake. You are probably asking what did he do. Well, he 'stole' a pair of shoes, not just any shoes they were sweetfeet's. Sweetfeet or Clyde Livingston was a famous baseball player he led the stolen bases in the American league.
He is overweight, likes Clyde Livingston, baseball, and dislikes digging a 5 by 5ft hole everyday at camp. I like Stanley because his background and he is overall a good guy and doesn't steal. I don't have a reason to dislike him if he stole the shoes than it would be different.

(Dawson Jones) Stanley Yelnats
Stanley Yelnats was walking home from school one day. A pair of shoes fell from the sky and cops found the shoes and arrested Stanley for "stealing". His family is poor and his Dad was an inventor. His whole family got a curse from a witch because of no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather.They blame everything on his no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather. When he got arrested he went Camp green Lake. He had choice of going to jail or to Camp Green Lake.
One of Stanley habits is eating. He likes the baseball player Sweet feet. The shoes that he stole was Sweet feets shoes. That's why it was a such harsh punishment when he "stole" the shoes. He dislikes Camp Green Lake. I like Stanley because he is fat and acts all innocent sense he didn't steal the shoes. Another reason why is because many characters aren't usually fat
(Aaron V.) Stanley's opinion
The impression that Stanley has shown us so far is pretty good compared to the details that the book has given us. What i think about Stanley is good. I think he just has really bad luck. i think that Stanley is a pretty hard worker because it talks about how he had to dig a hole and he never quit during that job. The actions of Stanley has told us that he doesn't talk that much and that hes kinda shy. We haven't read much about what he likes and doesn't like. It talks about how Stanley likes baseball and that can gives clues about what happened in the book and what might happen that explains about one of the main problems in the story.
What I think about Stanley is not the best but it's not bad. I like how Stanley is acting to the situation he's on. i feel bad for stanly. But Stanley seems to have a good impression on the same situation. I like how he feels and how he acts. That makes him a good character. So Stanley had has a good impression on me so far.

Welcome!
Welcome to your Literature Circle's blog! You will be using this space to discuss and share your ideas with other Bode students reading your chosen book. Before we get started, here's a refresher on how we use our blogs at Bode!
When Posting...
- Reread your post for mistakes before you post it!
- Don't bother other peoples' posts! You are sharing this space. Don't open a post unless you are its author.
- Focus on your responses-- not fancy fonts, not cutesy pictures, not making people laugh. This is a space for you to dig into and discuss the text!
- Use images if you want, but don't use them if they are distracting. Any posts with distracting visuals will lose points when graded-- only use meaningful pictures.
- Don't spoil the book for anyone!
When responding...
- Don't be a jerk when you reply to a blog post. Correcting spelling and grammar is ALWAYS off-limits-- that's not your job! Your response should be positive and supportive of your peer's writing. If you don't agree with what they are posting, that's fine! Just make sure that when you express your opinion, you do it in a way that isn't mean or insulting. Your goal is to add to a conversation-- not to shut one down. Remember! If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all!
- If something isn't clear or is left untouched in the original post, ask away! Comments are a great way to suggest new blog posts or to begin a conversation.
- Don't just say "I agree" and move on-- dig into the text! Use what you already know to spark a discussion!
- Don't spoil the book for anyone!
